India's central government wants to speed up the allocation of 60,000 hectares of land for solar and wind power projects

India's central government has instructed the state government of gujarat to speed up the allocation of 60,000 hectares of land for solar and wind power projects in kachi county. The project is expected to attract investment of about rs 1.35 trillion.


The proposed solar and wind power projects, one of the national priorities, are reviewed every month in accordance with the PRAGATI(pro-active Governance and Timely Implementation) plan. The PRAGATI scheme is being personally overseen by Indian prime minister narendra modi.


The land is fully owned by the government and the prime minister has instructed that the land allocation process should be completed as soon as possible and a report on the operation should be submitted within a week. Gujarat industrial power co., LTD. (GIPCL) is the agency implementing the project. The solar and wind power project will have an installed capacity of 30GW.
